The longest continuous stretch of the old “Mother Road”, Historic Route 66, still in use today, runs near here.  We drove to Kingman, Arizona, where we could get on it. Kingman has an excellent Route 66 museum at its Visitor Center inside the 100-year-old former powerhouse.

Lunch at Mr. D’s.  Good food, and the inside is a blast from the past.
