Boy, that sunshine here sure is intense. The high was only something like 71 it felt warmer than that.
Today was the first day of the 30th Annual Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show, “the largest gathering of RVs and RVers”. We went in early to beat the crowds and it’s a good thing we did. We would have walked but we are parked 2.5 miles from the big tent and thought walking home after all that would not be a good idea.
We’ve been thinking about adding solar panels to our RV but are hesitant about having them installed permanently on the roof, having to climb up there to tilt them and again to lower them every time we move, limiting our parking orientation every time we move so the panels face south. Wouldn’t be so bad if we stayed put for any length of time, but we move around a lot. Compromise. A portable panel that folds up and fits into a suitcase. Anyway it’s our baby step into solar living.

Our First Solar Panel
It looked a lot bigger in the store! Also, the problem with this kind is worrying about someone taking it when we go out. RVers generally do not steal from each other but these days you can’t be too careful.
We met some people who had 6 solar panels mounted on the top of their rig. We sat and visited with them all afternoon and they gave us lots of good information and tips about solar as well as other general fulltime RVing tips and info.

Passmore Gas
Our RV expenses for today: $595 for the solar panel, and $20 for gas at $3.18 per gallon.
