Beautiful La Jolla

Pronounced Le HOYa.  A lovely neighborhood north of San Diego.  We were walking along the Coast Walk and came across Children’s Pool.  This was originally created as a protected swimming area for children but as the man-made cove began to fill with sand the sea lions and harbor seals moved in.

The San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Park is in this area.   Bernie and I left our scuba diving gear at home so we were not able to explore it.  At the next beach this diver emerged while we were there.

Pelicans, seagulls, cormorants, and sea lions hang out here.  There is a rather unpleasant ammonia smell in this particular spot, but the view is worth it.

The Coast Walk changed from a sidewalk to a dirt path.  There was no sun today, and was even a little foggy, but we were still able to enjoy the views.
