Yesterday was a quiet day. We just took it easy, walked around the RV park and then went for a drive up the west side of nearby Lake Okeechobee. What we thought would be a scenic lake drive was a little disappointing. The lake is almost totally surrounded by a large levee and the large lake can only be seen by designated access points.

On our way back home we stopped at a roadside market. Besides the usual fruits and vegetables you can get frog legs and gator meat here. We just got some strawberries and oranges.

Today we moved slowly north to Lake Wales, which is about 45 minutes east of Tampa. We’re at Bullock’s Landing RV Park, a small friendly resort on the edge of town.

The temperature is cooling off a bit. The high today is around 70 and the humidity has dropped to a more comfortable level and we are seeing the sun a lot more than we did the last week.
