There’s not much going on in Quartzsite right now. January is the time for the big Sports, Vacation, and RV Show with the big tent and all the flea markets and shows. It has been billed as the “Largest Gathering of RVers in the World” as it draws in thousands of people, mostly in RVs.
We have been here a few times before and we headed to “our” spot at Scadden Wash, a free 14-day limited stay area on public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) parallel to I-10 Southeast of Quartzsite. The town is surrounded by public lands on all sides, and next month there will be thousands of RVs parked there. There are also several RV parks in town and right now they appear to be about half filled.
The flea market areas are showing signs of preparations for the big event.
Some vendors are here already and open for business.
And of course the lounge.
Beautiful desert sunset tonight!
We don’t plan on staying here more than just one night. We will move on to Yuma in the morning.
