Since we are going east now and the days are so short and the winter sun is so low in the sky we wait until almost noon before we start driving so the sun won’t be in our eyes. That’s ok because we are in no hurry be anywhere. And we only drove 60 miles today anyway.
We are entering the Phoenix suburbs now, so the scenery is changing, becoming more metropolitan, and increasing traffic. We’re looking for a place to stay the night. We first stopped at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa, Arizona. We went inside and signed up for their Player’s Club card. For this we get free buffet and $20 in slot play. The buffet was good and the $20 slot play went “poof” in about two minutes.

We decided we were not ready to stop yet, and there is another casino a little ways up, so off we go to Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino in Chandler, Arizona. We were still full from the buffet so we did not eat here. But we did go inside and walked around the outside.
The chefs had created a nice candy Who-Ville scene in the lobby of the hotel.
I loved the Wild Horse sculpture in the hotel lobby.
The RV parking is with the big truck parking. There are more trucks here than there are RVs. The RVs are clustered at one end of the lot and the trucks took over the rest. As the sun set the lot filled up to capacity.

Hi Marsha, I notice that you and Bernie stay at a number of casinos and was wondering if there is a directory somewhere that lists them all?
Thanks

Yes, there is a great web site that includes user submitted reviews and sometimes pictures of RV friendly casinos, http://casinocamper.com/ We also use the smartphone app called Allstays Camp & RV that is awesome at locating Walmarts and casinos and lots more free or cheap overnight stops with user submitted reviews.
